Shannon recently fundraised for Mast Cell Action by hosting a table selling books, MCAS badges, pens and Christmas cards. Shannon's original goal was £80, but thanks to incredible generosity and support, she raised an amazing £130!
What have you done/are you doing to raise funds for Mast Cell Action?
I set up a table with books and mast cell activation syndrome badges, pens, bags, Christmas cards
What is your link to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome?
I have been diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. I had been struggling with symptoms for over 3 years, that eventually got worse and led to me having seizures and no quality of life. I couldn’t look after my children and I had to stop work and be cared for 24 7. I couldn't get support from healthcare professionals and many didn’t believe that their was anything wrong with me and that it was all in my head.
I did everything I could to fight for my health and I came across information about MCAS. It made so much sense to me, everything fitted. I did a lot of research, got new doctors and finally managed to be seen and listened too.
I am now managing my symptoms with medication, avoiding triggers, reducing high histamine foods and I am doing all I can to try heal my body.
