This website is run by Mast Cell Action. We respect your privacy and comply with the the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You are welcome to access and use our site without disclosing your personal data.

What information do we collect?

If you contact us through our website or a general e mail with a question, we will keep a record of that correspondence and our response. If you have signed up to “Become a Friend” we will keep a record of your e mail address. If you have requested a lapel pin as part of “Become a Friend” we will have your postal address as well as your e mail address. We will delete the postal address when we have sent out a lapel pin.

If you have donated to us we may have access to a record of your address via the donation platform. The charity does not access or use the data from the donation platform.

If you “share your story” with us we will go through a bespoke consents process with you as regarding how we can use your story.


You have the right to access and correct, or delete your Personal Information held by us at any time. Simply email and e will delete or amend any of your records and confirm in a response e mail.


We will only use any personal information you send us for the purposes for which you provide it.

If you have signed up to Become a Friend of Mast Cell Action you have agreed that you would like to be provided with news and updates to the contact e mail details you have supplied. If you no longer wish to receive e mail communications please e mail us at and we will stop them.

If you have provided an address to receive a “pin” that is the sole use we will use that address for, and then delete it.

Any questions the charity receives via general e mails to the charity are simply stored in the e mail account. Specific requests for support via the website contact process are deleted from the website data base and copied into a word document with the response and securely stored in a password protected document. The response will be via e mail and as such then be stored in the e mail system.

We keep a record of responses to questions via the website simply so we can be aware of what advice we have given. We will store these responses indefinitely.


We will only hold your information for as long as necessary. This information is not shared with any other Organisations. All individuals who have access to your personal data are obliged to respect the confidentiality of this information.

The Mast Cell Action website has a Data management system which can only be accessed by authorised people in the charity.

Written responses to questions are recorded and processed by a specific individual and stored in a password protected document.


Mast Cell Action strives to ensure that the information provided on its official website is accurate at the time of publication, timely, unbiased and useful. We will endeavour to respond to specific questions in a balanced and informative manner.

However the information contained on the site and communicated in responses should not be considered medical guidance or professional advice.

Any communication or material that is sent to the Charity via this site, including any data, questions, comments, suggestions, will not be shared or publicised  but will be treated as non-confidential information. Note Mast Cell Action does not want to receive written detailed private medical information or personal details.
