Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions from our event registrants and attendees. We hope that you can find an answer to your question. If not, please contact us at events@mastcellaction.org and we’ll be happy to help.
Who can come?
Our sessions are for those who have MCAS or suspected MCAS or for those supporting someone with MCAS or suspected MCAS.
All of our sessions are for over 18s only; unless specifically stated. If we suspect you are below 18 and you cannot prove otherwise, we may remove you from our event. All of our sessions are for those based in the U.K only, this is due to our funding and the differences in medical systems, benefits, treatment and medications for MCAS around the world.
If you don't live in the UK, please explore our free resources on our website or view our videos on our YouTube channel.
Can't find your joining link?
Search in your inbox for an email from Zoom. It will come from no-reply@zoom.us
If you add this email address as a safe sender, it helps to avoid the emails going into your junk/spam inboxes.
When you register for an event you will receive an email from Zoom with your unique joining link. You will also receive a separate email from Beacon confirming you have registered. Having a unique joining link, means that you are automatically registered you as an attendee when you join the session. It also allows us to better track attendance of our events for funders, and improves our events safety. Having a unique meeting joining link means that sharing the meeting details with others will not allow them to join our events, attendees can only join sessions through the unique link and only one person can use each link.
Having trouble booking?
If you are booking using a smart phone, please ensure that your phone is in landscape mode to be able to book. The booking system will not work in portrait mode.

We host our sessions through Zoom, if you haven't used Zoom before and would like to learn then watch this tutorial video here. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where everyone can fully engage with our content and discussions. If you have any questions/suggestions regarding accessibility, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Your feedback helps us continually improve our efforts to ensure that all participants feel welcome and supported.
We are committed to making our virtual sessions accessible to all and we understand that some individuals experience electromagnetic sensitivity (EMF) or prefer hard copies of materials for various reasons. For individuals who prefer/require hard copies of materials, we are happy to provide alternative formats whenever possible. Please reach out to us. We will do our utmost to assist you and ensure your experience is as comfortable as possible.
Our session hosts are not always MCAS experts. They may not always get everything right, but they are here because they care deeply about our community and have our best interests at heart, often while managing their own health and sharing their lived or professional experience.
Our exercise hosts can be new to delivering sessions specifically for people living with MCAS and are continuing to learn about the condition. They have worked closely with the Mast Cell Action team to adapt their classes to be as safe, inclusive, and supportive as possible. As always, everyone knows their own body best. If any movement or exercise feels uncomfortable, risky, or not right for you, please do not feel any pressure to take part - pausing, modifying, or skipping an exercise is completely okay. As outlined in the event information, participants are responsible for their own wellbeing during the session.
We ask that hosts are treated with kindness and understanding. If something doesn’t feel quite right, we genuinely welcome feedback, but we ask that it is shared gently and constructively so we can continue to learn and improve together.
Sadly, we have lost several valued hosts in the past due to feedback that felt harsh or unfair, and we want to protect the people who give their time and energy to support this space.
If this approach doesn’t feel comfortable for you, that’s completely okay - you’re very welcome to step away from the session. Our priority is to keep this a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment for everyone involved.
Thank you for being part of that.
